The skin is like our mirror. It reflects our personalities, shows how we really are and how we take care of ourselves.
Starting with the face, we should be careful of what we use to clean or to put on our faces. For some of the products we use, can hurt
the skin or lead to skin diseases later. It is important to wash your face in the morning and before you go to bed. Water is the most
important factor for our skin, both indoor and outside. You should wash your face using water and cleansing gels, lotions or special
soaps depending on the kind of skin you have. We should also make sure that we drink enough water, for water is the greatest cosmetic
of all time! Make sure you drink at least two litters of water daily. This is equivalent to 8 glasses.
How do I know what kind of skin I have? Your dermatologist can tell you or you can detect it yourself by looking at the
following characteristics:
- Oily skin tends to shine and is easy to get pimples and black heads.
- Dry skin tends to dry often.
- Mixed skin is in between and just like oily skin needs special care.
- Normal skin is easily to take care and don't have any of the above
Characteristics.
Cleansing:
Each morning you should cleanse your face, and also before going to bed each night. In the evening make sure you wash away all make up.
It is important to sleep without make up, for this will allow your skin to breathe and to regenerate while you are sleeping. Use a cleanser
that will remove both dirt and make up. If your skin is dry use a cleansing lotion or cream that will leave behind emollients. For normal to
oily skin, use a gel cleanser or a mild facial soap. Be careful in choosing soap, for soaps can be harsh on your skin.
Moisturizing:
Moisturize your face using a lotion or a cream. It is important to use oil free moisturizers for oily skin. Good basic moisturizer can be found in any perfumery or drug store. You can add one Vitamin E capsule to your moisturizer.
