MAKING TIME

Dear friend,

Could your life be more relaxing and peaceful? I took some time off to enjoy the blessings in my life. It is important to rejoice and celebrate these blessings, new beginnings, achievements, and the beautiful things that happen on a daily basis. Keep in mind that there are seasons of life. When it is time to mourn…mourn. When it is time to celebrate…celebrate. This is my season of celebration.

In previous newsletters, I encouraged you to balance your mind, body, and soul. One way of achieving that balance is by allowing yourself to grow through life’s circumstances. As 2006 is ending and we look toward resolutions for 2007, don’t just prepare a new list of things to accomplish. Reflect upon your achievements in 2006 and celebrate those blessings!

If you can, in December, find a place that allows you to forget the hectic pace of life - even if for only a few moments - and frequent that place! While there, unwind and reflect. Revisit your visions and goals. Having an environment that nourishes you is essential to replenishing your energy. Equally, a nurturing environment often helps clarify your thoughts and deepen your connection with God and yourself. In that space, decisions become clearer and relaxation is easier. As you consider an environment that will help you relax, have an attitude that will also empower you to relax throughout your day. These ideas will help you.

1. SCHEDULE TIME JUST FOR YOURSELF. When is the last time you had absolutely nothing to do? If you're like most people, you probably can\'t remember! For that reason, I encourage you to make time just for yourself to relax. One of the best ways to decrease your stress level and enjoy the moments that are filled with the many things on your calendar, is to schedule free time just like any other important activity on your schedule. This might include taking a visit to a relaxing place or doing an activity that helps your mind, body and soul to relax.

2. SCHEDULE TIME FOR LOVED ONES It is important to make time for family and loved ones. It does affect our peace of mind when we show love to others by appreciating and making time for them. Scheduling time for yourself should not be considered an act of selfishness nor an excuse not to have time for your family or loved ones. A few minutes or a selected day can be enough for you to have time for yourself as well as do your job and make time for your family or friends. You shouldn’t need to have daily visits to the spa or mall, golfing, or other activities to unwind. Balance is needed in managing your time.

3. DON'T FIGHT EVERY BATTLE Do you sometimes feel as though you are constantly fighting battles? Whether at work, home, or with the rude person you encounter at the store, make a decision not to fight every battle. There are times in our lives when it feels like the world is against us. It can be natural to put up your defenses and head into battle. But if you stay in that mode, you will find yourself fighting so many battles that you are worn out and continually frustrated. Take your battles to God and He’ll fight them! If one arises that you truly need to fight, then He’ll provide a solution for you. Growth, knowledge, prayers, and maturity are needed for one to avoid trying to fight each battle on the way.

One lady asked me, “How do you do all this?” I said, “I make time and remind myself that somebody has to do it.” Making time for others will allow you to fulfill your life’s purpose.

have had a wonderful and blessed time in Japan and met wonderful people. I thank God for the opportunity to be here for over a year. Now it is time to move on. I am looking forward to spending Christmas in the USA with my family and excited to the next stages that life has to offer!

I would like to give special thanks to women and men that came out to support the gala I hosted in Okinawa, Japan. Next year someone will have a better life just because you cared and choose to make a difference! We can make time if we choose to.
