Dear friends, I hope that you are all in good health. Here again sitting on an airplane, I remember that I have to write my third newsletter! Planes seem to have a good atmosphere to collect ideas. I always look for ways to use my time productively, so I decided to use this time on the flight to let you know what has been going on with me since my last newsletter. I am flying back to Germany from Milan, Italy where I attended a fashion show of one of the world's best designers Giorgio Armani. The show accompanied the introduction of the new A-Class Mercedes Benz. The trip was different to what I have been doing since the end of July, which was mainly to promote my book 'The African Princess'. That has been time consuming and I realized that having your own project that you enjoy doing can cause you to neglect other important issues in your life like your health and time for relaxation. For sometime I had been feeling pain in my body that I chose to ignore, thinking visiting a doctor would take time off my activities. I think most of us have the same excuse, don't have time! In so doing we forget that unless we take care of our health, we won't be able to reach our full potential in doing things. Close friends and those I work with, have been telling me to take some weeks off and relax. I kept on telling them, I'll do that after finishing the first phase of promoting my book, which will take months! I know the importance of being fit and healthy, and taking time for yourself. I advise others to do so but still overlook my own health. Two weeks ago, I visited a friend admitted to hospital and was reminded how important it is to listen to our bodies. After praying, I followed my inner voice and friends’ advice and visited a doctor. To my surprise, he discovered conditions that required immediate attention. I was advised to take three weeks off my schedule and will have to have an operation to remove my tonsils. My tonsils have been causing problems in my whole body and would have caused me even greater damage later. The idea of staying in the hospital for the whole week was unimaginable to me! But I chose to listen to my inner voice and made a decision to have the operation done this week. My visit to Milan was the last engagement I accepted before being admitted to the hospital. In Milan a dear friend made sure I find time to relax and unwind. I visited a spa for special body treatment that left my body feeling great. Believe me, those messages do miracles to your body! I am now well prepared for my next move and I am happy to know I made a choice for something more important than my career….. my health. I challenge you to do something for your health. A healthy body and mind are vital for your achieving the best in your job, relationship or activities. Give your body enough movement and do some exercises, go for walks, make time to visit a gym or a spa or do yourself spa treatments at home. Visit a physician for a health-check and advice. Have the necessary check-ups done, drink enough water (at least 2 litres a day) and watch your diet. I received a lot of enquiries on loosing weight and maintaining proper weight. I am currently working on the health and beauty section of my website and should have some tips on that, as well as other issues on health and beauty soon. Investing in good health is investing in yourself and your future. I believe every single experience in life can be used for an even better tomorrow. Make time for yourself and learn to listen to your inner voice. It is my hope that my sharing motivates you to something positive. Till next time, I wish all of you good health. Peace.
